Rankings shape how employers, prospective students, investors and the global business community perceive UBC Sauder. That perception impacts the value of your credential and the doors it opens throughout your career.
Rankings strengthen the community you’re part of
Recognition in global rankings creates a compounding cycle of success. As UBC Sauder’s standing grows, it draws a more competitive applicant pool, raising the calibre of every incoming cohort and ultimately the network that every graduate is a part of.
Those graduates become business leaders who mentor and hire fellow UBC Sauder alumni, attracting the next pool of high-caliber candidates. By participating in rankings surveys, UBC Sauder alumni reinforce that cycle, enhancing the credibility of your degree and strengthening the community.
Rankings shape how your degree is valued in the market
Employers and recruiters use rankings as a benchmark for degree credibility, directly influencing which schools they prioritize for hiring. For alumni building ventures, investors apply the same logic, using institutional standing as a signal of founder potential. Those perceptions shape real outcomes: hiring decisions, compensation benchmarks, and access to opportunities.
"The caliber of our alumni community is one of our greatest assets. Rankings help signal that to the world – to employers, to investors, and to the next generation of students who will join that community." - Dean Darren Dahl
Rankings drive investment in the student experience
A strong ranking attracts a larger, more competitive applicant pool, enabling the School to strengthen resources, invest in innovation and faculty excellence and drive long-term institutional growth. All of which elevate the student experience.
How you can make an impact
- Complete surveys. Several respected global organizations conduct rankings surveys annually through outreach to recent graduates and alumni to gather data and evaluate the quality of your degree. Your response makes a big difference.
