BAFI 511 Investment Theory & Asset Pricing


The goal of this course is to study key aspects of financial investments / asset pricing, and to investigate certain
topical issues in this dynamic and important area of business.

Issues involving asset pricing and investments impact a wide range of important areas in business management,

  • The nature of risk and return in investments, and trade-offs between risk and return
  • Risk premia, asset pricing and the cost of capital
  • Derivative securities and management of financial risks
  • Alternative investments

By the end of this course, students should be able to understand core issues in investments and asset pricing,
analyze current issues in this dynamic area of business, and communicate their findings in a clear and concise
