Some believe that blockchain will be like the next internet, revolutionizing the way we run businesses, markets, governments, and manage data. Building on the foundations of the first webinar, Dr. Seidel and Dr. Rowell will be discussing how blockchain could disrupt existing businesses and industries, lead to new ways of organizing and creating assets and markets, and what this means for established companies. Both will also share what current research they are involved in and the educational initiatives being conducted at UBC.
Key Takeaways:
- Get a broad overview of the disruptive potential of blockchain
- Learn about the kinds of industries that are most likely to be disrupted by blockchain
- made obsolete by blockchain and similar technologies that enable distributed trust
