Meet our students & alumni

The combined UBC JD/MBA program attracts students interested in the interaction between the law and the business world. With their intellectual thirst and desire to utilize the analytical, problem solving and leadership skills that they have developed through the program, our graduates are able to become successful professionals in law and business. Here are some stories of our alumni.

"It’s definitely an asset to be able to understand the business side as well as the legal side when I’m working with a business to solve their legal issues."

Bessie Jackson
UBC JD/MBA 2011, In-house counsel at Aritzia

Student experience

Both the JD and MBA cohorts are intentionally kept small to foster a collaborative, collegial environment, giving you twice the opportunity to expand your network.

During the MBA component of the program, you’ll take part in international consulting projects where you’ll travel to consult for a business on the other side of the world during the Global Immersion Experience.

Over the course of two summers you will complete your articles as well as an MBA internship, where you’ll put the theory you’re learning into practice. You’ll also have twice the international exchange opportunities: choose from UBC Sauder’s or Allard’s partner schools around the world.
