The Marketing & Behavioural Science faculty are a highly productive research group, ranking number one in Canada in publications in major marketing journals. They publish regularly in the top marketing journals in the world, including the Journal of Marketing Research, the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Marketing, and Marketing Science.
David Hardisty, Division Chair

Nathan has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of British Columbia. His research focuses on the evolution of cooperation and includes topics such as: punishment, moral judgment, reputation, partner choice, leadership, and prestige.
Guanzhong has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Math from UNC Chapel Hill, an MA in Economics from Columbia University, and an MS in Marketing from VU Amsterdam. He joined UBC Sauder’s Marketing PhD program in 2021 with a focus on consumer behaviour.
Julie has a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the UBC Sauder School of Business. Her broad industry experience includes working as a management consultant at ZS, a demand planner at Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, and the operations manager of a small-scale food producer. Julie joined UBC Sauder’s Marketing PhD program in 2020 with a focus on consumer behaviour.
Xixi has a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics and Actuarial Science from University of Waterloo and an MSc degree in Statistics from University of British Columbia. She joined UBC Sauder’s Marketing PhD program in quantitative modeling in 2018.
Lucy has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Accounting from Boston College. After two years of working experience as an auditor at Deloitte, she joined UBC Sauder’s Marketing PhD program in 2021, focusing on consumer behaviour.
Siddhanth has a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of British Columbia, and joined UBC Sauder's Marketing PhD program in 2019. His research interests include sensory perception, hedonic consumption and social influences in the marketplace.
Ekin has an undergraduate degree in Political Science and a Master of Arts degree from Sabanci University. She is also a graduate of the Master of Management program at UBC Sauder, and joined the PhD program in 2016. Her research interests include social influences in consumer judgment & decision-making and goal pursuit.
Wade has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Brigham Young University. He began his PhD at the UBC Sauder School of Business in 2016. His research interests include creativity, time perception, and prosocial consumer behaviour.
Zining has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Beijing Foreign Studies University and a Master’s degree from Erasmus University. She joined UBC Sauder’s Marketing PhD program in 2018. She is interested in digital marketing, cause marketing, econometric models and machine learning.
Fan has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Sun Yat-sen University and an Mphil degree in Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She joined UBC Sauder’s Marketing PhD program at 2016. She is interested in quantitative modelling.
Shangwen received his Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Beijing Normal University, China, and joined UBC Sauder’s Marketing PhD program in 2019. His research interests include understanding how social context and attribute framing affect one’s judgement and decision making.
