The W. Maurice Young Centre for Entrepreneurship & Venture Capital Research and the OBHR Division of the UBC Sauder School of Business are jointly co-hosting the OMT Division of the Academy of Management Writing and Reviewing Workshop on February 1-2, 2018 at the UBC Sauder School of Business in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Additional support is provided by the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University.
This developmental and highly interactive workshop offers the opportunity for Ph.D. students, postdocs and faculty members at an early stage of their career to develop papers for publication in quality outlets, and to develop their reviewing skills.
The workshop will be led by nine current and past members of the Academy of Management OMT Division Executive board, including current and past editors of Academy of Management Learning & Education, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management Studies, Research in the Sociology of Organizations, Research in the Sociology of Work, and Strategic Management Journal; as well as past and current editorial board members of Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Learning & Education, Administrative Science Quarterly, Innovation: Organization and Management, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science, and Strategic Organization.
Accepted attendees are coming from around the world from over 20 universities for this workshop. Emphasis will be placed on developing and writing strong theory. Authors will receive feedback from mentors and peers with similar research interests. Participants will also learn more about the review process, and how to be more developmental in their own reviews.
