Business Families Centre

Resources

At the core of the Business Families Centre’s work is the creation and sharing of knowledge.

The BFC is part of a greater scholarly and professional community working to ensure the long-term success of family enterprises in Canada.  In developing, compiling, and translating leading academic research into accessible resources, the BFC strives to expand the core understanding of business families and develop practical tools and actionable strategies to address their evolving needs.

Family business database

The Business Families Centre (BFC) is establishing a comprehensive database on Canadian business families.  This unique project, made possible through the generous support of BMO Financial Group, is designed to help fill a significant knowledge gap that currently exists in the field of family enterprise studies due to a lack of reliable and credible information on Canadian business families.  This database will provide leading scholars and experts with the necessary data to help shape both theory and practice in this emerging field.
