The Business Families Centre (BFC) at the UBC Sauder School of Business was proud to have The Beedie family as the honoured guests for our 2010 Family Legacy Series Gala Dinner. Keith Beedie’s first building, built in 1945 at the age of 19, was a modest structure of 1,200 hand-built square feet (left). Today, The Beedie Group is the largest landlord of industrial space in BC with over 7 million sq. ft. in its portfolio. The company leads the BC market in industrial development, construction and management, having built over 20 million sq. ft. of space since Keith’s first cement-block shop.

Featuring an intimate discussion led each year by a different prominent Canadian business family, the Family Legacy Series Gala Dinner showcases real life examples of creativity, knowledge, and effort successfully transferred to the next generation, creating a legacy model for family enterprises.
