BALA 503 Commercial Law

Overview

This course will focus on key legal concepts that business people should consider in making informed decisions in dealing domestically and abroad. Content will include background on the legal system, formation, interpretation and enforcement of contacts, sale of goods transactions including shipping and passing of risk, negligence and product liability, and intellectual property. The course will not replace legal advice but will attempt to give students skills in analyzing legal issues so they can maximize the utility of legal advice and minimize the cost. Cases and practical problems will provided the framework for application of the course material.
