UBC MM scholarship & awards
UBC Sauder School of Business is proud to award entrance scholarships to 20-30% of every class. Our vision is to attract a balanced mix of top talent from Canada and abroad. We look for students who not only demonstrate the highest standard of academic excellence, but also commitment and dedication to their career ambitions. Applicants are assessed on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) work experience, academic achievement, business drive and the quality of the application essays.
To qualify for the following scholarships, you will need to meet the merit requirements and apply by the UBC MM application deadlines outlined below. All applicants are automatically considered for the following scholarships upon application submission, so we encourage you to submit your application as early as possible.

External scholarships
The following external organizations offer or administer a variety of scholarships for both domestic and international students. Please note that these scholarships are not administered by the Robert H. Lee Graduate School, the UBC Sauder School of Business or UBC, unless explicitly stated.

Aga Khan Foundation - International Scholarship Programme The Aga Khan Foundation provides a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from select developing countries who have no other means of financing their studies, in order to develop effective scholars and leaders and to prepare them for employment, primarily within the AKDN. Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant : 50% loan basis through a competitive application process once a year in June or July. |
CAEL Scholarships CAEL has two scholarships for international students: $5,000 each, one to a student currently studying in Canada, and one to a student currently studying overseas. For more information on how to apply, please visit cael.ca/scholarships. |
Kathryn Huget Leadership Award Awarded to a Master's or PhD student, with preference given to female students currently in leadership roles, whose focus is to improve the business workplace for women. Preference given to the applicants studying in the areas of: organizational behaviour, business administration, business and commerce, sociology, or psychology. UBC Awards for Indigenous students The UBC awards for Indigenous students include scholarships and bursaries. When a student applies for these awards, they are considered for both merit and need-based awards. For more information on how to apply, please contact your Enrolment Services Advisor. |
Loan programs
The following institutions have offered to provide financing and assistance to eligible applicants enrolled in the UBC MM program. Loans or Lines of Credit may provide students with the financial assistance to help with tuition, books, personal living expenses, as well as everyday banking needs. Terms and conditions, and further details on the programs can be found below:

Lifelong Learning Plan The Lifelong Learning Plan is a Government of Canada initiative that allows individuals to use RRSP savings towards the cost of their education. Information on this program is available from Canada Customs & Revenue Agency. |
Teaching Assistants/Research Assistants UBC MM students do not assume the roles of Teaching or Research Assistants. These roles are usually occupied by MSc and PhD students in the Sauder School of Business. |
Part-Time Work Opportunities UBC MM students are not encouraged to work part-time during the program owing to the large time commitment required for classes, group work and individual study. |
