Become a certified Lean Black Belt practitioner

Tailored as a progression from Lean Green Belt, this program is designed for those who are responsible for improving value streams involving more than a single process. It focuses on the integration of Lean activities with the organizational restructuring needed to transform and sustain Lean operations in an entire value stream—from order to delivery. It also describes key cultural factors for encouraging people to adopt mindsets and actions that will advance organizational goals. 

Supervisors, managers and directors who wish to develop the skills to effectively lead, coach and carry out improvement projects across a value stream by utilizing enablers in the Lean Body of Knowledge.

Note: to get the most out of the program, participants should have at least a Green Belt level of knowledge.

  • Understand the principles and techniques of cultural enablers for human empowerment

  • Measurement systems and Lean measures
  • Driving organizational change and transformation

Special features

  • Simulation exercise - you will engage in a simulated project, and present it to the group for feedback
  • Exam - a multiple choice exam at the end of the program will ensure you have sufficiently understood the course material
  • Module assignment – for each module, you will submit a write-up on how you will apply the material to your own organization
  • Coaching - three hours of certification project coaching with an expert coach

At the successful completion of the exam and assignments, you will receive a Certificate in Lean Black Belt.

Dr. Keith Kee

Keith is a Director with True Hoshin Consulting Inc. He has more than 15 years of experience assisting clients in their journey of operational design, including the integration of automation and digital transformation. A certified Lean Black Belt, project management and change management expert, he also delivers Lean optimization, continuous service improvement and strategic planning programs to private and public sector organizations.

Magdelene Rebecca Kee

Magdelene is a Director with True Hoshin Consulting Inc. Formerly she was the Director of Business Consulting at Fujitsu Canada, Director of Lean at PWC, and Manager of Lean Transformation at Vancouver Coastal Health. A certified coach in Lean, she has more than 30 years of experience in developing and delivering training, optimization, continuous service improvement and strategic planning programs to organizations across multiple industries.
