Bruce Wiesner is the Associate Dean, Executive Education, providing overall leadership and strategic direction of business development and operations for the business unit. A graduate of the UBC Sauder School, Wiesner brings to the team over thirty years of management and senior executive experience with a proven track record in leading successful growth strategies within the publishing, advertising and media industries. Bruce was previously Senior Vice-President of Canada Wide Media Ltd and has also held several senior positions at Quebecor World Inc. including Regional Vice-President. Prior to that he spent several years in key management roles with Pitney Bowes and Konica Minolta.

Jackie brings to the team over ten years of experience in corporate education with a proven record of designing programs, operations management, and client engagement. Anson is the Director, Open Enrolment, overseeing the complete design and delivery of the open enrolment short and week-long courses and programs. He provides overall leadership and working with the operations teams, ensures the courses and programs are at the highest standards. He partners and collaborates closely with the faculty and industry practitioners to deliver impactful learning that help professionals to build and hone-in on their skills, resulting in higher performance in their functions and organizations. Anson brings extensive and hands-on experience in executive education, talent and leadership development, from working with private and public organizations in Canada and Asia.

Bhavraj is the Director of Operations and Business Applications for UBC Sauder Executive Education. He is responsible for being the architect and delivery lead for the unit's full range of business applications in order to develop a scalable technology infrastructure that positions the unit for long term success. Bhavraj has been with UBC since 2018 and previously worked as a Procurement Partner at Financial Operations. His areas of expertise are client services, sales, negotiation, supply chain management and procurement. Bhavraj has experience in leading high functioning teams and has held a wide variety of positions with start-ups and large multi-national organizations. He holds a BA in Economics from Simon Fraser University.

Nicola Scott-Davies is the Learning Architect for UBC Sauder Executive Education. She has over 20 years’ experience working within a wide range of global businesses from both the private and public sectors specializing in designing and delivering creative and innovative learning solutions to facilitate sustainable change, leverage high performance team work and develop strategic thinking. Nicola worked with the London Business School for 18 years as a Programme Director and Lead Coach and as a Senior Learning Consultant and Orchestrator with Headspring, a joint venture between the Financial Times and the IE Business School. Mike Lakusiak is the Associate Director, Digital Experience at UBC Sauder Executive Education. He leads all digital projects and programming including learning experience design, our live virtual offerings and supervising all the work that comes out of our media production studio in downtown Vancouver. Mike began his career in journalism and worked in the educational technology space as a solutions engineer for a large eLearning software firm. Before joining the Executive Education team, he was the Technical Producer for the UBC Graduate School of Journalism. Mike completed his Master of Journalism at UBC, where he focused on documentary and immersive video production.

Anita has been the presence behind the “written face” of Executive Education since 1990. Acting as a liaison between programming and marketing, she works with program managers and instructors to create clear, accurate and customer-focused marketing materials describing the unit's open enrollment programs. She holds a Masters degree in English from UBC, and has also written professionally for a popular food, wine and travel magazine.

Imogene contributes to program management work flow processes for Executive Education. She is responsible for coordinating all aspects of program delivery, starting with a smooth transition from business development to continuous client satisfaction monitoring and client engagement improvement. She also works with faculty members to ensure that client needs are materialized. Imogene has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Simon Fraser University. She has been with the UBC Sauder School of Business for twelve years, and previously worked as a Human Resources training coordinator at UBC Plant Operations for eight years.

Elsie is the Program Manager for UBC Sauder Executive Education. Her role is central to supporting the effective design, delivery, and quality control of world-class custom executive education programs to Canadian leading organizations such as TransLink, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, BCAA, and WorkSafe BC. She has been with Executive Education for a decade and previously liaised with faculties and associates to deliver many Open Enrolment programs. Elsie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with Business Option and a minor in Psychology from University of Victoria, as well as a Professional Project Management Certificate from UBC Sauder Executive Education. She brings to the team extensive financial and customer service experience as an Assistant Investment Advisor at TD Wealth, one of the Big Five banks of Canada.

Vicky (she/her) is the Senior Program Coordinator for UBC Sauder Executive Education. She holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Windsor and has over 15 years of purchasing, administrative and customer service experience. In her role, she is responsible for delivering custom and open enrollment programs, including overseeing the admissions process for incoming students (in collaboration with the RHL MBA program office). She interacts with faculty and instructors, current and potential students, facilities staff at the UBC Point Grey and Robson campuses and external suppliers. Her duties include planning and scheduling student events, such as orientation and presentation days during the program and for graduation.

Valerie Keenahan is the Executive Assistant for UBC Sauder Executive Education, providing wide-ranging departmental oversight and confidential senior level administrative support to the Associate Dean, Executive Education at the UBC Sauder School of Business. Before joining UBC Sauder, Valerie spent seven years working as an Assistant School Principal in an Irish language primary school in Dublin, Ireland. Valerie graduated with an International Bachelor of Education from Dublin City University in 2010. She spent one of these years studying and teaching in Krakow, Poland. Her interest in communication skills led her to complete a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies in University College Dublin in 2020.

Mandy is the Program Manager for UBC Sauder Executive Education managing existing organizational accounts and engaging with prospective clients. She works directly with organizations, faculty, and participants to ensure a smooth program delivery and positive interaction amongst all members and key stakeholders. As an avid learner and strong believer of continuous learning, Mandy collaborates in ways that support the goals of creating sustainable learning solutions and driving impact on new and existing learning partnerships. She holds a Bachelor of Science from UBC with a major in Biology and a minor in Commerce as well as a Certified Associate in Project Management Designation from the Project Management Institute.

Perry Atwal
Perry is a faculty member at the UBC Sauder School of Business. He teaches courses on service management, employment relationships, organizational behaviour, strategy and marketing. He has led successful projects involving extremely diverse participants, and has forged effective relationships between business and government professionals at many levels. Previously he worked in Investment Banking in London, New York and Hong Kong.

Dr. Justin Bull
Justin is a faculty member at the Sauder School of Business, where he leads the Sustainability and Ethics Group. An experienced educator and consultant, his clients have included Adobe, IKEA, Canfor, WWF and Rolling Stone Magazine. He is also a board member with the economic development arm of the Tla’amin Nation, where he assists a modern Treaty Nation with their development strategy.

Dr. Lisa Cavanaugh
Lisa is Academic Director of the Graduate School and a Marketing & Behavioural Science professor at the UBC Sauder School of Business, where she teaches marketing strategy, business strategy, advertising and consumer behaviour. An internationally recognized expert in marketing and consumer psychology, she was named one of “The World’s Best 40 Under 40 Business School Professors.” Professionally, she has directed strategic marketing, branding and new business development efforts for US organizations and consults for start-ups, social enterprises and global brands internationally.

Andrew Chen
Andrew is an Adjunct faculty member at the UBC Sauder School of Business who specializes in improvisation for leaders and business communications. He is a Canadian Comedy Award Nominated performer and has worked in improvisation since 2003. He has been affiliated with various improv organizations such as the Canadian Improv Games, UBC Improv and Instant Theatre, and has offered improv programs in a professional development context.

Dr. Darren Dahl
Darren Dahl is the Dean of the UBC Sauder School of Business and an Innovate BC Professor. He’s globally recognized for his work in strategic marketing, entrepreneurship, creativity and social influence. Dahl is an award-winning academic who is a past recipient of the Killam Research Prize and the 3M Teaching Fellowship, and in 2015 he was ranked as the #1 professor worldwide for marketing research by the American Marketing Association. He also consults widely for multinational corporations.

Adel Gamar
Adel is an Adjunct faculty member at the UBC Sauder School of Business and CEO of a boutique firm specializing in adaptive leadership, strategy and change management. He is driven to forge effective collaborations among business, government and non-profit sectors while creating lasting solutions. In addition to advising senior leaders of Fortune 500 companies and public sector agencies worldwide, he has taught adaptive leadership and negotiation at Harvard and served as Education Specialist at UNESCO. He also co-facilitated the Think Tank on Global Education: Empowering Global Citizens.

Tracey Gurton
Tracey is a faculty member at the UBC Sauder School of Business. She’s been with the University of British Columbia since 2002, and has been recognized for teaching excellence. She teaches full time in the MBA and BCOM programs in areas including Organizational Culture, Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Managing Change, Group Decision Making and Trust on Teams. She also delivers professional development programs to executives, managers, and groups within private companies and public organizations, thereby helping these enterprises be a better place to work. She believes that a paramount responsibility in teaching, speaking and consulting is to bring theory to life, with practical examples and experiences. In 2020, Tracey received a Special Service Award for UBC Sauder’s exceptional transition to virtual classroom education during UBC’s COVID response. She and her colleagues also launched a new course called Values, Ethics and Community, which continues to receive high praise in UBC Sauder’s top-rated business degree.

Dr. Joey Hoegg
Joey is the Canada Research Chair in Consumer Behaviour and Associate Professor of Marketing at the UBC Sauder School of Business. She teaches consumer insights and marketing research. Her expertise includes the influence of product and advertising design on consumers, and how brands develop relationships with their customers. Previously she worked as a marketing research and communications consultant in San Diego.

Dr. Tim Huh
Tim is a Professor at the UBC Sauder School of Business. His interests include operations management, inventory control, supply chain management and dynamic pricing. He has worked with semiconductor companies on capacity expansion and configuration, when the production technology and demand for products were subject to high uncertainty. He has also worked with health care organizations, insurance companies and manufacturing facilities in Canada and the U.S.

Dr. Kari Marken
Faculty
Kari is a faculty member at the UBC Sauder School of Business, where she teaches public speaking and communication. She also leads the Graduate Program creativity curriculum, highlighting critical thinking, problem solving and innovating in teams. Her specific expertise is in the application of leadership presence and critical thinking to bring out the creative capacity in groups facing complex challenges. In addition to her academic work, she runs an educational design consultancy that helps organizations improve their learning and team-building strategies.

Dr. Steven Minns
Steven is a faculty member at the UBC Sauder School of Business. His interests include business strategy, innovation, decision making and public policy. Formerly he was Head of Project Management at Taylor Woodrow, an international development and infrastructure construction firm with operations throughout Europe, Africa, North America and the Middle East.

Doug Mollenhauer
Doug is an Adjunct faculty member at the UBC Sauder School of Business. He has taught presentation skills and business writing at many of BC’s best-known organizations for more than 25 years, and coaches senior leaders on speaking and persuasive communication. He has also been a regular contributor to The Globe and Mail on topics pertaining to leadership and business communication.

Dr. Mahesh Nagarajan
Mahesh is a Professor and Chair of the Operations and Logistics Division at the UBC Sauder School of Business, where he holds the Alumni Chair Professorship in stochastic optimization and financial modeling. His areas of applied research include data analytics and mathematical modeling of business systems. He has also consulted with major international organizations in retail, manufacturing, services and health care.
Dr. Rebecca Paluch
Rebecca is an Assistant Professor at the UBC Sauder School of Business, where she focuses on the changing nature of employment relationships. She recently received the Faculty’s inaugural Equity, Diversity and Inclusion award for her contributions to advancing EDI initiatives at UBC. She has also worked as a consultant for organizations such as Accenture and The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Dr. Wayne Rawcliffe
Wayne Rawcliffe is a full time faculty member at the UBC Sauder School of Business. The recipient of the 2020 CPA award in excellence in graduate education, he is an engaging educator, organizational behaviour & human resources champion. He has over 25 years of experience helping clients at all levels of leadership in public, private and not-for-profit sector organizations to successfully develop and implement individual, team and organizational performance improvement initiatives. He has expertise in leadership and management development, change management, high performing teams, total rewards, & talent strategy.

Dr. Steven Shechter
Steven is an Associate Professor at the UBC Sauder School of Business. His expertise involves applying data-driven, advanced analytical techniques to improve managerial decision making. He was recently awarded a Career Investigator Award from BC’s Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research for his work on applying analytics to the health care industry. He also has work experience applying analytics to the airline industry.

Dr. Timothy Silk
Tim teaches brand management, new product development and consumer behaviour at the UBC Sauder School of Business. A leading expert in pricing and promotion-related consumer behaviour, he helps major international organizations to identify strategic market opportunities for new products. He has also helped shape consumer-friendly public policies for government agencies. Formerly he was a marketing manager for a soft-drink company and an advertising account executive.

Scott Sinclair
Scott is a faculty member at the UBC Sauder School of Business. He has been actively involved in professional accounting education for more than 35 years. He was the principal author for the CA School of Business in Western Canada between 2000 and 2010, and has won multiple awards for teaching excellence. He has also worked with Coopers & Lybrand Chartered Accounts, serving small business and mining clients.

Dr. Daniel Skarlicki
Daniel is the Edgar Kaiser Professor of Organizational Behaviour at the UBC Sauder School of Business. He has taught executive programs in organizations across North and South America, Europe and Asia. His clients have included VanCity, Rocky Mountaineer and Glaxo. An active educator, he has won numerous teaching and international research awards. His interests focus on leadership mindfulness and how people respond to justice and injustice at work.
Trevor Sones
Trevor is an Adjunct faculty member at the UBC Sauder School of Business, where he teaches human and organizational behaviour, conflict resolution, leadership and communication. He has also been a Mediator with the BC Labour Relations Board for more than 14 years, helping parties negotiate solutions to large, high-profile conflicts. He is particularly skilled at handling interactions between senior leaders on politically sensitive issues involving those under their leadership.

Amy Stanley
Amy is an Adjunct faculty member at the UBC Sauder School of Business. She has worked in various HR roles, including 8 years as an HR Manager in UBC’s Department of Medicine. An expert executive coach, she manages her own leadership development business helping leaders handle conflict and create high-performing organizations. Her global client list includes a range of industries from the business, finance, government and education sectors.

Christie Stephenson
Christie, a thought leader in corporate governance and responsible business, is Executive Director of the Peter P. Dhillon Centre for Business Ethics at the UBC Sauder School of Business. Before joining UBC she spent 15+ years working at firms in the ESG investment industry, where she was engaged in the analysis and advocacy of emerging governance expectations of public companies. She also has over two decades of board service as a director of cooperatives, non-profit and private organizations.

Dr. James Tansey
James is an Associate Professor at the UBC Sauder School of Business and the Executive Director of SauderS3i, a research centre dedicated to social innovation, sustainability and impact investing. A renowned leader in social enterprise, emerging technologies and environmental strategy, he co-founded Canada’s largest carbon project developer and advises organizations in the green energy space.

Joanne Turner
Joanne is an Adjunct faculty member at the UBC Sauder School of Business and a brand strategist who helps organizations drive bottom-line results while making positive social and environmental impacts. For almost two decaddes, she led strategic planning at award-winning agencies and worked with some of the best marketers in the world. She now runs her own consultancy firm, where she applies her big brand skills to public and private sector organizations striving to achieve both purpose and profit goals.

Dr. Danielle van Jaarsveld
Danielle is an Associate Professor at the UBC Sauder School of Business in the Organizational Behavior-Human Resources Division. Her expertise includes customer service, industrial relations and human resource management. Currently, she focuses on how customer mistreatment of employees influences performance, turnover and absenteeism. She is frequently interviewed by the media about her findings.

Dr. Yanwen Wang
Yanwen is an Assistant Professor of Marketing and Canada Research Chair in Marketing Analytics at the UBC Sauder School of Business, where she teaches marketing research and customer relationship management. Her interests lie at the intersection between marketing and public policy; specifically, the regulatory implications of marketing actions in anti-smoking campaigns, political advertising and mobile ride sharing apps.

Dr. Kate White
Kate is Professor of Marketing & Behavioural Science and Academic Director of the Peter Dillon Centre for Business Ethics at the UBC Sauder School of Business. A world-renowned researcher, author and teacher, she focuses on how we can shift people’s attitudes to encourage prosocial actions. She has also conducted behaviour change projects with major public sector organizations, including smoking cessation with Health Canada, sustainability with The City of Calgary, and charitable giving with The United Way.

Jonathan Carrigan
Jonathan is a passionate thought leader with 20 years of experience working at the intersection of strategy, technology and design. He was a founding member of the corporate transformation office at Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment that guided the organization's digital transformation. Previously he led digital product development and design in support of strategic planning at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. An active educator and online facilitator, he speaks regularly at industry events internationally.

Dr. David Hannah
David is a Professor of Management at Simon Fraser University, where he has won multiple teaching awards. He has taught executive programs at a number of prominent universities in Western Canada and Texas. His clients have included Samsung, B.C. Hydro, PMC-Sierra, the Beijing Media Group and many other organizations in the public and private sectors. His research focuses on how employees can deal effectively with workplace dilemmas.

Denise Holleran-Boswell
Denise is a certified PMP and Prosci Change Practitioner, the Founder and Managing Partner of Collaborators In Knowledge Inc., and past President of the Society of PMP’s of Greater Vancouver. She has over 40 years of international industry experience as a practicing project, program and portfolio manager specializing in change, risk and stakeholder management. In her role as coach, she has trained thousands of people from the private and public sectors in the best practices of portfolio and project management.

Steve Jacobs
Steve is Senior Advisor and past Board Chair at CLG, a global leader in behaviour-based strategy execution and performance improvement consulting. He is known internationally for his work with senior executives who are accountable for making things happen—improving the speed, return and sustainability of performance improvement strategies in their companies. His clients have included major corporations such as Chevron, Cigna, H.J. Heinz and the Bank of Montreal.

Dr. Keith Kee
Keith is a Director with True Hoshin Consulting Inc. He has more than 15 years of experience assisting clients in their journey of operational design, including the integration of automation and digital transformation. A certified Lean Black Belt, project management and change management expert, he also delivers Lean optimization, continuous service improvement and strategic planning programs to private and public sector organizations.

Magdelene Rebecca Kee
Magdelene is a Director with True Hoshin Consulting Inc. Formerly she was the Director of Business Consulting at Fujitsu Canada, Director of Lean at PWC, and Manager of Lean Transformation at Vancouver Coastal Health. A certified coach in Lean, she has more than 30 years of experience in developing and delivering training, optimization, continuous service improvement and strategic planning programs to organizations across multiple industries.

Jennifer Kwok
Jennifer has practiced law for over 10 years. Drawing on her past career as a Patrol Constable with the Vancouver Police Department, she frequently conducts workplace investigations into a wide variety of complaints, for organizations of all sizes. She also provides training and advises clients on labour and privacy matters, advocating for a proactive perspective to prevent clients from finding themselves in legal jeopardy.

Dr. Gail Levitt
Gail is President of Levitt Communications Inc. An expert and author on influential leadership, she coaches individuals and teams to enhance their communications, leadership, strategic problem solving, and productivity for peak performance. She is known for her energetic and motivating teaching style, and has written two acclaimed books on collaboration and team planning.

Dr. Gordon McIntosh
Gordon has 35+ years of experience in providing governance development, strategic facilitation and leadership guidance to government and public sector organizations. His current interests focus on alignment strategies for effective political/administrative relations. His students affirm that his dynamic sessions enable them to make an immediate leadership difference back at work.

Robert Murray
Robert is a Partner in the Incrementa Group, a strategy, leadership development and business optimization organization. An award-winning transformational leader, he has led 18 different turn-around projects in more than 20 countries where the culture was toxic and debilitating to success. A passionate educator, he is also a sought-after speaker and an Amazon #1 best-selling author on issues relating to customer-centric cultures, strategy, transformation and leadership.

Dr. Elizabeth Newton
Elizabeth is a Registered Psychologist dedicated to helping people thrive at work. She consults with a wide variety of clients in areas such as succession planning, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and leadership development. A top-rated educator, she built the grant-winning E101 entrepreneurship program at UBC. She is also a prolific writer of articles for magazines, newspapers and websites.

Carman Overholt (Q.C.)
Carman has over 35 years of experience working with senior business managers and HR professionals to ensure compliance with labour, employment and human rights legislation, and to develop policies that minimize the risk of litigation. He has appeared on behalf of employers before the BC Supreme Court, BC Human Rights Tribunal, BC Employment Standards Tribunal and the Canadian Industrial Relations Board in a variety of commercial and labour arbitration proceedings. He has also represented employers in collective bargaining.

Tracy Page
Tracy is a certified project management consultant who works locally and internationally to help clients deliver successfully on complex strategic projects. Her workshops in project management, communication and leadership help team members develop their delivery skills and become more effective in their day-to-day working relationships.

Preston Parsons
Preston has practiced law for over 10 years. His practice includes advising both employers and employees on all types of workplace law issues, with a focus on proactive measures to prevent trouble from arising. Dr. Marie-Hélène Pelletier
Marie-Hélène draws on her extensive background to increase resilience as a key pillar of organizational success. She is a practicing psychologist and senior leader with over 20 years of experience. As an executive at Sun Life Financial, she oversaw the physical, mental and financial health strategy to support Sun Life’s clients.

Joanna Piros
Joanna is a senior consultant with Counterpoint Communications, where she conducts communications and media relations consulting. For 20+ years she has trained thousands of people how to become better communicators, and how to project themselves in the media spotlight and on the podium. Her clients have included Ballard Power Systems, VanCity, TransLink and Indigenous & Northern Affairs Canada.

Rachel Segal
Rachel has spent many years at the intersection of digital communications, product strategy and project delivery. She currently leads a social impact agency specializing in strategy, branding, digital and marketing solutions for nonprofits and purpose-driven companies. Formerly she worked as a Senior Digital Strategist, helping organizations around the world to design and deliver engaging digital campaigns that empower people and platforms.

Kai Su
Kai is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt consultant with more than 18 years of experience in driving and delivering multi-million dollar operational benefits in large manufacturing and services industries. His previous roles included leading process improvement programs at TD Bank, Honeywell and TELUS. A passionate LSS coach, mentor and trainer, he is known for encompassing customer-centric thinking into the everyday business culture.

Dr. Alex Trisoglio
Alex is an executive coach and leadership adviser with extensive experience in leadership development, performance improvement and organizational change. His experience includes nineteen years advising senior leaders at McKinsey & Co. and four years working with the CEO and Management Team at IFC/The World Bank.

Erica Groschler
As a Senior Associate and former Adjunct faculty member of UBC Sauder School of Business, Erica is the Academic Director for some of Sauder Executive Education’s customized client engagements. Erica has over 25 years of experience working with organizations to help improve human performance in the workplace, helping companies define and develop their culture and high-performance capability. She is the founder and President of TPS Consulting Ltd, where she focuses on organizational design, leadership, team development, change and organizational culture.
