UBC MBA + MBAN Dual Degree

Study globally

Your global journey starts here

During your time at UBC Sauder, you'Il have unparalleled access to immersive study abroad options through our global partnerships. The UBC MBA+MBAN Dual Degree offers two global learning opportunities: Global Network for Advanced Management and the Global Immersion Experience.

Global Network for Advanced Management

UBC Sauder is the only Canadian school in the Global Network for Advanced Management (Global Network), a prestigious collaboration of 30 graduate schools around the world. While students are not guaranteed a spot in Global Network, those who participate will travel to international universities, tour local businesses and meet with local business experts. Plus, students can take online courses offered by schools in the network.

Global Network opportunities:

Network weeks
Global Network partner schools deliver intensive week-long courses in topics of that particular school’s expertise. MBA students from the network can travel to universities across the world to attend these courses. For example, UBC Sauder recently hosted MBA students from around the globe for a course on innovation in the clean technology sector.

Global network courses
In these for-credit classes, MBA students from around the world connect virtually to collaborate on projects and gain skills working in a global business setting.

Global Immersion Experience

A key component of the UBC MBA, the GIE allows you to go abroad and consult for a pre-selected overseas company on a real world business challenge. The 5-month experience begins at UBC Sauder with an introduction to the business practices and customs of your host country. Then, once abroad, you'll consult with a local company's management team and help them solve some of their unique business problems. The GIE locations in previous years have been Santiago, Tel Aviv, Berlin and Shanghai.

After working on a tech startup in Japan, learning different business customs in Spain, and exploring global strategy frameworks in Turkey, Kerry Minailo amassed extensive international experience during his UBC MBA. Collectively, these enriched experiences helped him land a key role at Hungerford Properties in Vancouver.
