1. Apply online
Step 1: Complete the online UBC DAP application form and pay the non-refundable application fee of $115 CAD, Visa and MasterCard are accepted.
Step 2: Submit official transcripts from all the post-secondary institutions attended. UBC alumni and current students do not need to submit UBC transcripts as part of the application as the DAP Office can access the records through the UBC student database system.
Step 3: Submit a degree certificate if the official transcripts do not indicate the degree name and conferral date. Applicants enrolled in the final term of an undergraduate degree at a Canadian or American university must arrange for an official letter of completion from a Faculty Advisor indicating the number of credits outstanding and the anticipated graduation date.
Step 4: English Language Proficiency Verification, one of the following is required:
- An undergraduate or graduate degree from a recognized English language university
- An English language proficiency exam, either TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS Academic, is required for all candidates whose degrees are from a university outside Canada in which English was not the official language of instruction.
- TOEFL: overall score of 90, reading and listening with 22 each, and writing and speaking with 21 each.
- IELTS: overall score of 6.5 with no part less than 6.0.
Only tests written within 24 months prior to submission of an application are accepted. Official test results must be sent directly from the testing center to the UBC DAP office.
Step 5: Check status of your application.
Applicants are encouraged to regularly check the application status page online to ensure that the required documentation has been received. Status updates will commence within five business days of the original application.
Applicants will be informed of the admission decision within 5-10 business days of receipt of all required documentation.
