Brand Management Mentorship Program
This intensive, recruitment-focused program aims to help UBC Sauder students land coveted brand management positions with top global brands.The program is facilitated by Professor Tim Silk and led by UBC Sauder alumni marketing professionals who have successfully gone through the process. They’ll share their insights into what it takes to be successful in the interview process as well as on-the-job.
Capital Markets Training Program
The program prepares finance students for a career in the capital markets and investment banking and showcases the quality of UBC Sauder students to capital markets employers. The program provides access to high-quality online technical workshop training by a leading organization that offers new hire training to banks around the world.
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute Program Partner
The UBC Sauder School of Business is a CFA Institute Program Partner, an internationally recognized designation certifying that the UBC Sauder BCom meets the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge. As a CFA Program Partner, UBC Sauder gives its students the edge they need in pursuing this professional designation and careers in positions as financial analysts, portfolio managers, and investment advisors. Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) Recruitment Program
The CPA Recruit is an annual recruitment campaign where local and national CPA firms hire accounting students and graduates for full-time, summer, or co-op positions. The Hari B. Varshney Business Career Centre and UBC Accounting Club work together with BCCPA to coordinate the campaign and will support you along the way. If you're interested in pursuing a career as a Chartered Professional Accountant, this program is for you.
Consulting Toolkit Program
To land a coveted internship or full-time management consulting position you’ll need to excel at case interviews. The Consulting Toolkit Program provides you with a ‘toolkit’ for effectively structuring and communicating your thoughts during a consulting interview. The program includes a series of workshops and mock interviews led by an experienced consultant.
Executive Mentorship Program
The Executive Mentorship Program (EMP), facilitated by the Commerce Undergraduate Society, engages senior BCom students in actively developing lasting relationships with professionals in the industry. You’ll be paired with an experienced professional in the business community, most likely in your option of study. During the year you will be given the opportunity to connect with your mentor over a series of one-to-one meetings and annual events hosted by the EMP student leadership team. Whether you choose to take on a more formal or casual interaction with your mentor is up to you and there is room for creativity and fun.
Finance Mentorship Program
The program aims help you understand the various career opportunities in the finance industry and prepare for summer recruitment and interviews. We offer two mentorship program streams: Capital Markets and Commercial Banking. Successful candidates be matched with an industry professional and be expected to complete all aspects of the program, including one on one sessions, workshops, resume work, interview practice, and homework assignments.
Portfolio Management Foundation Program
The Dean of Commerce (UBC) Portfolio Management Foundation (PMF) is a two-year extra-curricular program for BCom students that begins at the end of their second year of university. It consists of two summers of internships, an academic year as a “Research Associate” (assisting the students one year ahead in the program) and an academic year as a “Fund Manager.” The FMs’ and RAs’ task is to add value to a real portfolio of stocks and bonds, currently valued at about $9 million.
