For specific subject matter, Times Higher Education also ranked UBC’s Business & Management, Accounting & Finance, and Economics & Econometrics studies first nationally and 25th worldwide in all three categories.
According to Robert Helsley, dean of the UBC Sauder School of Business, the school’s focus on educating responsible leaders contributes to its consistently high global reputation.

These rankings underscore the unparalleled access our students have to world-leading faculty and programs at the business school and across the university.”
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings judge research-intensive universities using 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators, grouped into five areas: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation); citations (research influence); international outlook (staff, students and research); and industry income (knowledge transfer). The subject rankings are based on the same range of 13 performance indicators used in the overall World University Rankings 2019, but the methodology is recalibrated for each subject to suit the individual fields.
