UBC and the UBC Sauder School of Business have once again ranked highly in business-related categories against other schools worldwide in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject, released this week.
The university placed prominently in the Accounting and Finance, Business and Management, and Economics and Econometrics categories.
UBC ranked second in Canada and 39th in the world in the Accounting and Finance category, second in Canada and 46th in the world in the Business and Management category, and second in Canada and 29th in the world in the Economics and Econometrics category.
The QS World Rankings compare the world's leading educational institutions against key metrics including academic reputation, faculty/student ratio and international faculty ratio. The 2019 Rankings by Subject drew on responses from over 83,000 academics worldwide and focused on teaching and research quality of universities; the survey also evaluated 'citations per faculty' across a five-year-period to examine the institution's contributions to academia and furthering critical research.
The UBC Sauder School of Business also earned the top spot in Maclean's most recent ranking of the best business schools across Canada.
