Master of Management (MM) students looking to further hone their business expertise in today’s highly globalized world can now pursue a new dual Master degree option* offered by UBC Sauder and Yale University.
The new partnership* offers MM students the opportunity to earn a Master of Management Studies in Global Business and Society (GBS) at Yale School of Management after completing their nine-month MM program at UBC Sauder. The new dual Master degree option is open to students currently enrolled in the MM degree program and alumni who graduated from UBC Sauder within the last three years; the first cohort for the new program is expected to start in September 2018. Future MM applicants will also have a chance to apply to both UBC Sauder and Yale at the same time through a concurrent admission process.
“This is an incredible opportunity for our students to supplement UBC Sauder’s academic rigour with a global perspective at Yale School of Management,” explains Darren Dahl, director of the Robert H. Lee Graduate School. “In today’s highly globalized environment, economic realities are deeply impacted by changes taking place around the world. The dual Master degree option prepares students for this future while also opening the door to new opportunities that will further expand their skill set.”
David Bach, deputy dean at Yale School of Management, adds: “Whatever pathway students choose, young leaders who are interested in having impact throughout their careers will quickly develop skills that set them apart in the global marketplace, while building a deep network of like-minded peers around the world. The world needs more globally-minded leaders, not fewer, and with this initiative we seek to positively impact organizations confronting challenging issues at the nexus of business and society.”
Students and alumni of the dual Master degree program will have full access to resources at both schools, including personalized career services, contact with alumni and access the Yale School of Management Network, with more than 50 alumni chapters across the globe.
The dual Master degree is the latest addition to UBC Sauder’s ongoing partnership with Yale – and 27 other member schools across the country – as part of The Global Network for Advanced Management (Global Network). UBC Sauder also runs an MBA program with a similar arrangement that gives students access to Yale’s Master of Advanced Management degree.
