UBC Sauder’s Dr. Rebecca Paluch (she/her) has been recognized as the 2022 Untapped Workplace Inclusion Champion, presented by the Open Door Group. The Open Door Group, one of British Columbia’s largest not-for-profit providers of employment services, is focused on building equity, diversity, inclusivity (EDI) and to create a province that is barrier free. Dr. Paluch was recognized in the “Individual” category.
Dr. Paluch, an Assistant Professor in the Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources Division, is a champion of EDI at UBC Sauder through her innovative research, her teaching, and her contributions internally at the school and beyond. Her research covers non-traditional employment relationships, diversity and inclusion in organizations and post-employment relationships. Currently, she is teaching courses at the undergraduate level (Gender and Diversity in Leadership, Managing Employment Relationship) and at the graduate level (Leading Diversity and Inclusion). Dr. Paluch serves as a valued member of UBC Sauder’s EDI Committee and in 2021, was recognized with a UBC Sauder staff award in the category of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

Since joining UBC Sauder’s faculty in 2019, Dr. Paluch has been a sought-after expert voice in the local and national media on subjects related to EDI and human resources, contributing to outlets such as CTV, Business in Vancouver, the Globe and Mail, and CKNW-AM.
“Being named the 2022 Untapped Workplace Inclusion Champion is an incredible honour, and I am humbled by this recognition. These efforts wouldn’t have been possible without the help of many collaborators and UBC Sauder’s support for greater equity, diversity, and inclusion in our community,” says Dr. Paluch.
