Human beings are hardwired for storytelling. However, telling a compelling story that people buy into is not easy. Have you ever presented an idea but failed to close the deal?

This interactive workshop with Ivan Wanis Ruiz will help you advance your communications skills by teaching you how to craft a simple yet persuasive story that sells. Not only will you have time to practice and receive instant feedback, but you will also be able to network before and after the session.
 

By the end of the workshop you will be able to:

  • Build a tool belt of effective communication strategies
  • Apply techniques to create instant rapport with your audience
  • Implement a model for storytelling to compel and convince
  • Utilize a model to communicate complex ideas simply to create buy in

This event is a collaboration between UBC Sauder Alumni Career Services and alumni UBC. All UBC alumni are welcome. Space is limited so sign up as soon as possible!

Presenter Biography:
Ivan Wanis Ruiz is a dynamic public speaking, communications, and team building coach with an interactive and refreshing style of teaching. He is also an engaging event host. He has had diverse experience working with various organizations including UBC Sauder, UBC, Ministry of Attorney General’s Office of BC, City of Toronto, Pan Am and Para Pan Am Games Torch Relays.
