Overview
UBC Sauder, in partnership with Mitacs are excited to re-launch the “Mitacs Business Strategy Internship" program for internships starting in Summer 2021. The program will award eligible UBC Sauder students $10,000 ($5,000 of which is contributed by the participating organisation) of funding to undertake a 4-month internship with businesses and non for profit organizations. Internships will be structured to provide support to organizations that need additional assistance in modifying their business operations to adapt to the new economic reality in an environment disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Primary goals of the program
Real world experience
Provide students with the opportunity to apply business concepts to real-world decision-making and build students’ skills in problem solving, innovation, and navigating change.
Support the business community
Provide support to Businesses and Not-for-Profits organizations who need additional assistance in modifying their business operations to adapt to the new economic reality.
Collaboration & career connections
Strengthen collaborations between companies and universities, and expand students’ network with the business community.
Eligibility
- Be an undergraduate or graduate student at UBC Sauder School of Business, returning to studies in Fall 2021 and currently located in Canada.
- Not be a current, active participant in another Mitacs program.
- Willing to contribute $5000 towards each internship grant.
- Able to supervise a students project work and provide mentor ship over a 4 month internship period.
