About the speaker: Jennifer Li
Jennifer Li is a global business executive with financial, operational, and technology industry experiences. She was the Chief Financial Officer of Baidu Inc., the leading Chinese language search engine and one of the largest search engines in the world. She served in this capacity from 2008, led Baidu over ten years of growth and built it from an emerging internet company to a global search and AI powerhouse.
Jennifer joined General Motors right after graduating from UBC Sauder School of Business. During her career at GM, she worked in Canada, the U.S., Singapore and China. Her posts in GM included Chief Financial Officer of GM China and Financial Controller of the North American Operations for GMAC. In May 2010, Jennifer joined Philip Morris International as an independent board member, the 4th Chinese executive ever, and the 1st woman from China to join a S&P 500 company board. She has also been appointed as an independent board member of HSBC Corporation Limited, Flex (formerly Flextronics), the leading EMS and ODM and ABB, the global utility, power, transportation and industrial automation and robotics business.
In 2010, she was selected as Forbes "Asia Most Intriguing Women".
In 2012, she was named Fortune magazine's "25 Most Popular Business People in Asia".
In 2013 and 2014, she was selected as Forbes "World's Most Influential Women."
In 2016, Jennifer was selected for Fortune's “World's 50 Most Influential Women" list.
Ms. Li graduated from Tsinghua University in 1990 and received an MBA from the University of British Columbia in 1994.
