Dean Dahl will speak about his vision, his emerging new strategic plan, and his focus on responsible leadership. He will also discuss the school’s history, passion, and strength in innovation, climate, and finance.
Darren Dahl is the Dean of the UBC Sauder School of Business and the Innovate BC Professor. He’s globally recognized for his work in strategic marketing, entrepreneurship, creativity, and social influence. Dahl is an award-winning academic who is a past recipient of the Killam Research Prize and the 3M Teaching Fellowship. In 2015, he was ranked as the #1 professor worldwide for marketing research by the American Marketing Association.
Reflections on a journey.
Dahl received his Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Alberta in 1992 and his PhD in Marketing from the University of British Columbia in 1998. He began his professional research and teaching career at the University of Manitoba, and joined the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration at UBC as Associate Professor in 2002. Dahl earned a promotion to Professor in 2007. An internationally sought-after speaker, he has also held a number of visiting professorships at universities in the United States, Australia, the Netherlands, and Hong Kong.
