By the end of the class, you should be able to:

- Calculate expected values, with and without discounting;
- Demonstrate how options and risk aversion affect the expected value of a given investment opportunity, and how they also affect the way uncertainty affects value;
- Recognize how information affects firms' ability to profit from selling to consumers;
- Understand and recommend methods of price discrimination that enables firms to extract information and enhanced profits from consumers;
- Identify tactics to deal with the possibility that business or governmental may take actions or have characteristics that affect your relationship bu are hidden from you
