Ch'nook Administrative Coordinator
Lauren Casey oversees the administration of Ch’nook and supports Ch’nook initiatives including the Aboriginal Management Program (AMP), the Ch’nook Scholars Program and the Ch’nook Accelerated Business Program (ABP).
Lauren is a proud member of the Haida Nation from the Skidegate Band. Her ancestral name is llgaan, meaning a beloved friend. Lauren is committed to working to serve Indigenous Peoples locally, in BC, and across Turtle Island.
Prior to joining the Ch’nook Management Team, Lauren served as the issues manager/hearing coordinator for the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, and as executive assistant to the chair of the First Nations Health Council. Outside of the office, Lauren is passionate about the written word; she is an avid reader of every genre, and writes stories and poems herself.
Lauren is currently continuing her studies at the University of British Columbia in the Faculty of Arts, part-time.
