Tae Hoon Oum, UPS Foundation Chair in Transportation and Professor Emeritus, Operations and Logistics Division at UBC Sauder, will assume the presidency of the World Conference on Transport Research Society (WCTRS), the world’s largest transport research organization, on May 28th, 2019.

The UBC Centre for Transportation Studies at the UBC Sauder School of Business recently collaborated with Simon Fraser University and the Copenhagen Business School to organize a workshop and take stock of the shipping industry's efforts worldwide to cut carbon emissions and become more sustainable.
On May 8, 2019, UBC Sauder Professor Emeritus Mark Thompson was presented with the official insignia of a Member of the Order of Canada at Rideau Hall in Ottawa by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada. Thompson’s appointment was first announced in June 2018.
