The school’s open enrolment and custom programs were both recognized among top 25 in North America.
For the eighth consecutive year, the UBC Sauder School of Business Executive Education Open Enrolment program has been ranked among the world’s best professional development programs for managers and senior leaders, placing 16th in North America in the Financial Times annual rankings. The 2019 placement represented a two-spot rise in the North American rankings over 2018, and a seven-spot rise globally.
In just its second year in consideration, the school’s custom program – which involves tailor-made courses for corporate customers – was ranked 21st in North America jumping up three spots from 2018.
“We’re thrilled to see such positive momentum with regards to our professional development programs,” says Bruce Wiesner, associate dean of UBC Sauder Executive Education. “Given that the Financial Times Executive Education survey is largely informed by qualitative client and customer feedback, it’s clear our approach is resonating with senior business leaders. At present, the professional development industry is going through unprecedented disruption, and being ranked 27th globally for repeat business makes us extremely proud of the faith our clients continue to show in our offerings.”
The 2019 Financial Times Executive Education Rankings identify the top 80 customized and open-enrolment programs worldwide. The rankings are based primarily on measures of participants’ and clients’ satisfaction, as well as the schools’ growth in revenue, international reach and faculty diversity.
In the open enrolment category, the Financial Times highlighted the diversity of UBC Sauder Executive Education’s faculty, ranking it as 20th in the world. The “Faculty Diversity” ranking recognizes the gender diversity of UBC Sauder’s faculty instructors, as well as the impressive make-up of faculty who are from Canada and many other countries around the world. This diversity offers program participants instruction with a truly global perspective.
