Once again, the UBC Sauder School of Business has been ranked as one of the top places to study business in Canada by Maclean’s magazine.

The highly-respected news magazine ranked UBC Sauder second out of 20 Canadian business schools, highlighting UBC’s focus on creating a more intimate learning environment through student-centric learning spaces.

The business school rankings are one of 10 subject-area rankings that were first introduced by Maclean’s last year in an effort to help prospective students determine which schools can most effectively help them find success in their desired field.

To assemble the ranking, Maclean’s drew on data from Elsevier—a world-leading publisher of academic studies—to not only assess the thought leadership of the country’s post-secondary institutions, but to also conduct a reputational survey.

UBC also placed high in Maclean’s 2017 National Reputation Ranking, scoring third amongst 49 of the best universities in Canada. Globally, UBC consistently ranks in the top 40, placing 34th in the world by the Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai ranking), and 36th by Times Higher Education—two rankings which are widely regarded as the most influential and widely-observed university measures.
