UBC Sauder, in partnership with Mitacs are excited to re-launch the Mitacs Business Strategy Internship (MBSI) to help connect students with paid work experiences in Summer 2021. Students who land internships through this program will receive a $10,000 stipend paid throughout their internship. This program is open to eligible UBC Sauder students and will connect them with four month internships in organizations across Canada.


Primary goals of the program


Build work experience
Give students the opportunity to apply business concepts to real-world decision-making and build skills in problem solving, innovation and navigating change.

Support the business community
Support organization in addressing business challenges and help stimulate Canada's economic recovery during the COVID-19 era.

Collaboration & career connections
Connect students with business communities and further strengthen UBC Sauder’s networks with organizations across Canada.

How to apply


Program details


All Mitacs Business Strategy Internship (MBSI) roles will be shared on COOL, with “MBSI” in the job title, for student to apply to.

Students hired through the program will work on a project for 4 months and be paid a $10,000 stipend.

Students will have a supervisor from the organization and a staff/faculty contact from UBC Sauder who will conduct program check-in's.

Internships will be designed to address one or more business strategy need (i.e. marketing, operations, or finance strategy, etc.), depending on the needs of the employer.

At the end of their internships, students will need to complete a final report summarizing the work they completed in this program.
