Tahir is the Managing Partner, Markets and Industries for PwC Canada. This role encompasses PwC market strategies for Canada and key client account programs. Tahir is also a business advisor to clients in several industries, including retail, real estate, tourism and manufacturing.

Previously, Tahir was Canadian leader of the Private Company Services (PCS) practice, Alberta PCS leader, BC PCS leader, and human capital partner Vancouver Assurance business. He has also served in several global project lead roles. Tahir also has an executive responsibility for PwC’s Diversity and Inclusion strategy.

Tahir is passionate about working with PwC’s clients. He is excited to be leading the Markets and Industries practice in achieving its vision of becoming the professional services provider of choice for businesses based or operating in Canada and around the world. As the Markets leader, his role is twofold: to attract, develop and engage talented people who are passionate about their clients' long-term success; and to build relationships with leaders of companies to make a positive difference, create value, and exceed their expectations.

Tahir’s knowledge of IPOs, due diligence and transaction support allows him to provide PwC’s clients with strategic business advice to help meet their needs. Through his expertise in the areas of accounting and audit, corporate and personal taxation, acquisition and disposition structuring, and strategic planning,Tahir is able to provide clients with multi-disciplined business advice and to effectively coordinate specialized resources within the PwC network.

Born in Kenya, Tahir later immigrated to the UK and is a graduate of the University of Leeds, England (BA Hons Economics). He obtained his CA designation in the UK and moved to Canada in 1998 when he was admitted to partnership at PwC.

Tahir has attended the executive education leadership program at Ivey and completed an INSEAD Leadership program. In 2003, Tahir had the experience of a lifetime when he worked with the United Nations in Namibia on a HIV/AIDS project for two months as part of the PwC Ulysses program.

Tahir has served on various charitable boards. He was a board member and finance chair at Canuck Place, Children’s Hospice, and until recently he was a board member, executive committee member and chair of the finance committee at St. George’s School, both in Vancouver. Tahir is also a board member of the Women Presidents’ Organization based out of New York. Tahir has also just been appointed a board member and nominating committee member for Hope Air, a national charity based in Toronto.
