Byron Bolton

Byron was born in Kamloops, British Columbia in 1962, and grew up on the family cattle ranch.

While growing up along the South Thompson River in Kamloops, Byron developed a passion for the marine industry.  This passion has led to a career of more than twenty years as the founder of Kingfisher Boats which has consolidated the Harbercraft and Jetcraft boat brands and recently acquired Renaissance Marine Group which manufactures and markets NorthWest, Duckworth and Weldcraft brands of boats. Together, with a solid management team, the businesses have grown steadily with acquisitions in Western Canada and Pacific North West. Byron takes a great deal of pride in his entrepreneurial background, taking Kingfisher from a small company with a handful of employees to be the leading heavy gauge aluminum boat manufacturer in North America.

He has attended executive development programs at the Ivey School of Management, Stanford University and Harvard Business School.  Byron participates on several industry, as well as not for profit, boards including the Young Presidents Organization as the Canada Region Finance Chair, Order of St. John Okanagan Commandery - founding director and BC Alpine - Okanagan Zone Director.

Byron has been happily married to his wife Sheryl, for over 25 years.  They have four young adult children: Rosemarie, Baxter, Rayel, and Katrina. The children are respectively pursuing their post-secondary educations and carriers. Sheryl remains significantly involved with the children’s activities and takes on an active part on the regional Catholic school board as well as several not for profit organizations.
