Building a project-management culture

LTS adopts international standards of Project Portfolio Management (PPM) to ensure successful delivery of IT projects. This approach combines:

  • business management to ensure projects and programs align to strategy
  • resource management for managing an organization’s resources and risks
  • project management to ensure projects meet or exceed their planned contribution to the portfolio

Each new project begins with a Project Charter, which defines high-level purpose, objectives, benefits, scope and responsibilities. Before a project can proceed, a Project Sponsor approves the Project Charter to ensure it aligns with Sauder’s strategy and business needs. For information about each project phase, refer to the project methodology overview.

LTS has delivered many enterprise-level systems, including Web Content Management System, Enrolment and Registration System for Executive Education, and a secure Web Payment Gateway. LTS also facilitates workshops with Sauder management to identify, review, prioritize and begin preparations for the next round of projects. For more information, visit the project processes section.
