Real Property Appraiser/ Valuation Consultant

Kent-Macpherson is a full service, appraisal and valuation consulting firm based in Kelowna, British Columbia. Established in 1973, our firm has developed a reputation for professionalism and high standards. Our firm has grown into one of Western Canada’s leading authorities in real estate valuation with a focus on commercial, industrial, agricultural and development lands.
We are seeking an individual to join our team of Real Property Appraisers. This person will work directly with a Senior Partner and will be involved with the timely and professional completion of market value appraisals and consulting assignments on first nation’s lands, commercial, industrial and development properties in the southern interior and Kootenay regions.
This includes:
- organizing, planning and managing valuation assignments
- on site inspections
- reviewing architectural and engineering plans
- reviewing and analyzing property data such as land use bylaws, applicable legislation, titles and surveys
- reviewing and analyzing economic factors
- determining Highest and Best Use
- reviewing and analyzing market data
- reconciling valuation conclusions with the purpose and intended use of the assignment
-completion of consulting reports such as market rent studies
- loss of use analysis
- communication with a variety of sources to obtain sales and leases data from a variety of locations
- communication with clients throughout the valuation process to ensure client expectations are met
The successful candidate will have:
- post secondary degree/diploma in a related-field
- three to five years of commercial real estate appraisal experience
-completion of the AACI designation (Accredited Appraiser of the Canadian Institute) from the Appraisal Institute of Canada
-an in-depth knowledge of the Canadian Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice
-good communication skills; personal and written
-confidence in their judgments and decisions
-honesty and integrity
-the ability to work effectively with other team members and meet deadlines
-mechanical engineering, finance, and/or economics background
