General:
This position requires a prolific writer of vocational courses and experience in the pedagogical design of adult education curriculum, both on-line and in printed formats. A CTDP professional designation and a university degree in instructional design and adult education are highly preferred.
The subject matter is real estate and applicants will need to have an understanding of the real estate business and practices. Direct experience creating content for real estate education programs is an ideal qualification. Similar previous career work in a university or college, professional association, real estate law, or publishing environments will also be assets.
Course writing and development will focus in two key areas: (1) registration education courses that are pre-requisites to individuals being licensed as real estate professionals in Ontario, and (2) continuing professional development courses for established REALTORS® to upgrade and expand skills to enhance professional success and ethical practices in real estate.
Specific Qualification Requirements :
- Administer the program for the development and management of registration
(licensing) education courses.
- Maintain knowledge of all course content as well as that of programs offered by other relevant jurisdictions in the real estate industry.
- Research, design and write courses.
- Ensure content reflects better practices in pedagogy/adult learning.
- Organize and manage the review and development process for all content/courses. This requires project management and organizational skills to manage significant, concurrent volumes of material (up to 13 courses
annually).
- Ensure course content is relevant by keeping up-to-date with current knowledge and development in the fields of real estate, adult education and curriculum development.
- Storyboard print and on-line versions of content.
- Extensive knowledge of multimedia authoring tools (Macromedia Flash, Author ware), and web development tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Captivate.
- Revise course materials and examinations; draft examination questions.
- Work cooperatively with other OREA personnel, instructors, students, and suppliers.
