CONTROLLER – REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

Based in Vancouver, Concert Properties is a major Canadian diversified real estate enterprise, developing and acquiring condominium housing, senior living communities, rental housing, resort properties and commercial and industrial properties in BC, Alberta and Ontario.

Since 1989, Concert has completed developments of approximately $2 billion and it continues to have a highly active development program.  It has a very strong financial position itself, and close relationships with major real estate investors, and thus can  take a long-term view and undertake very sizeable development projects throughout the real estate cycle.

Due to the impending retirement of the long-standing incumbent, Concert needs to hire a new Controller – Development Projects who will report to the CFO.  This position is responsible for the accounting and reporting function related to development projects, which includes preparing and managing proformas, monthly reporting internally and to co-owners, managing a small team of project accountants, and dealing as necessary with external organizations such as lenders and cost consultants.

Candidates should have an accounting designation (preferred, not mandatory) and about 10 years of accounting experience. Experience in the real estate development and/or construction sector is essential.  We need a stable, reliable individual with good mentoring and people management skills, and up-to-date computer skills.
