BAIT 510 Project Management and Business Solutions (formerly Managing Business Information Technology Projects)

Today, project management is essential for achieving desirable business results. The objective of this module is to acquaint students with generally recognized good practices in project management. Good project management practices are exemplified in the context of Information Technology (IT) in this module. However, these practices are general and applicable to all projects in many contexts. Therefore, the module is not specific to those who will manage information technology projects. The module is useful to those who will manage projects in any context.

This module takes a broad view of project management and emphasizes on nine project management knowledge areas—project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resource, communications, risk, and procurement management. module contents are closely in line with Project Management Institute’s guidelines to provide a solid framework for managing projects in various contexts. 

This module is designed to familiarize students with issues related to project management and to introduce them possible approaches and techniques that can be used to alleviate or eliminate those issues. This module provides students with an understanding of principles, frameworks and techniques of project management and how to apply them in diverse and complex settings such as in the IT setting.
