BAIT 507 is an introduction to data thinking, databases and data management, which encompass mutually related data, the technology platforms upon which data reside, and programming that access and manipulate the data. The course will delve into various database models such as flat file, hierarchical, and relational, but with a focus on those data designs that are frequently used in business analytics and the tools needed to operate with them. The course will also cover the concepts related to data access using structured query language (SQL). This course is designed to be a pre-requisite to a follow-on course in Business Analytics Programming.
