BAIT 527 - Business Intelligence for Management

Whether you start your own company or join an existing one, you will discover you have a very modern problem: there will be far too much data to comprehend. Globally, analytics and "big data" are the hot new topic, and their implementation is expected to save companies and governments *trillions* of dollars per year. According to a recent McKinsey report, North America could face a shortage of 1.5 million managers with deep analytical skills.

This course will provide you with practical experience using popular, powerful, user-friendly analytics tools, as well as a strong conceptual foundation to avoid mistakes down the road.

Topics will include applications in finance, human resources, marketing, and not-for-profit fundraising.  The course includes two lab sessions, case studies, a practical project, and a guest lecturer from Telus Business Intelligence.
