Career Management

The Hari B. Varshney Business Career Centre (BCC) at the Sauder School of Business offers both personal consultation and a structured program to help students identify, develop, and achieve their unique career goals. Early in the program, students will complete a web-based self-assessment test that will help them clarify their career directions. Once studies are underway, students will benefit from one-on-one career coaching and career workshops in areas such as:

  • Interviewing Skills
  • Approaching the Market
  • Networking - The How's and Why's
  • Resumes for Business
  • Salary Negotiations
  • Self Employment and Consulting
  • So You Want to Be an Entrepreneur?
  • Writing Cover and Approach Letters
  • How & Where to Get Hired?

The BCC offers the Career Development Program (CDP) to help students acquire career management skills. These three self-contained weeks during the MM program are devoted to enhancing students’ personal effectiveness both on and off the job. The CDP format incorporates a mix of seminars, guest speakers, discussion groups, career coaching, and self-directed activities. Students will have the opportunity to tailor a personal development plan by selecting portions of the program that support their specific goals.
