The Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences is one of seven faculties of the University of Cologne. The University, dating back to 1388, is located in the center of Cologne. The Faculty is the successor of the School of Commerce, which was founded by Cologne's wealthy merchants in 1901. Cologne's Business School has gained a stable and outstanding reputation (Top ranked: No 1. for Economics and No. 3 for Business in a ranking of Germany's Business Schools, “Manager Magazine”, 2003; No. 10 for Master of Management / Economics in a Europe- wide ranking, “Financial Times”, 2005). The Faculty offers six tracks of study, each leading to a different type of degree:

• Economics
• Economics with Social Sciences
• Business Informatics
• Economic Education
• Health Economics

The Faculty's guest students, have three different options for their studies: 1-2 semesters in German language, 1-2 semesters in English language ("International Business and Politics" Program), or the four weeks summer school “Cologne Intensive Study Program in European Management (CISP)” in May/June. Guest students can attend a four weeks pre-semester German language course free of charge. The offer for guest students is completed by Business Projects - consultancy like projects carried out by international students teams, Skill Seminars and seminars on scientific work.

During their stay students enjoy the full services of the ZIB (International Relations Center), including: Accommodation search, support in visa affairs and administration formalities, on-site orientations and daily advice service, a “Buddy system” tutoring by German students, Integration in cultural and social events.
