Business Innovation

Business Innovation is designed for budding entrepreneurs to kick-start new business ventures – or for “intrapreneurs” who want to build innovation and manage creative product development within an existing company.

You’ll focus on creativity, change management, new product development, entrepreneurial finance, customer-focused design, and business development. Collaborating with students from other faculties, you’ll also have an exciting opportunity to cultivate a new venture.

“Sauder was the catalyst. It was out of this innovative class that Recon was spawned.” – Fraser Hall, UBC MBA 2007, Chairman, Recon Instruments.

What you’ll learn on the Business Innovation track

Following an Intro to Innovation and Entrepreneurship, you’ll take three required modules, choose five track-related electives, and six free electives. Courses include: Prototyping, Qualitative Models, Consumer Behavior, New Product Development, Disruption, Selling Your Idea, and Social Entrepreneurship.
