At the heart of the UBC MBA is the Integrated Core - an intensive 13-week foundation in finance, marketing, accounting, human resources, statistics, managerial economics, and information systems. The Integrated Core is team-taught as one comprehensive course reflecting the inherent complexity of the business environment. Subject areas are taught individually, as well as from an integrated perspective, developing the students' understanding of the true multi-dimensional nature of business.
The benefits:
- You will develop a general management perspective based on a solid understanding of key business functional areas and their interdependence.
- You will develop a broad-based, senior-level strategic approach to business decision making.
- You will build collaborative and leadership skills working in teams of five under the supervision and guidance of a faculty member.
- You will draw on the knowledge and experience of both faculty and fellow students in a stimulating and dynamic learning environment.
The UBC MBA is designed to respond to the growing demand for graduates who can offer an area of specialization to complement their strong broad management education. Enhance your marketability by developing expertise in one of eight functional areas. The UBC MBA also offers the General Management option. This route allows students the flexibility to self-select all of their modules, thereby completely customizing their MBA degree.
Modules
Each specialization consists of both required and elective modules. You can choose either to enhance the depth of your specialization or broaden your skill set from an unparalleled selection of more than 80 modules in 14 different subject areas.
