Integrated Core: A Solid Foundation

The Integrated Core is an intensive foundational course delivered in seven week-long sessions (Thursday to Monday) over a seven-month period (January to July 2011). This course involves the investigation and analysis of the strategic, financial, human resources and technological issues that define and challenge the health care sector. The purpose of the Integrated Core is to develop a common foundation and understanding of business and management principles and their relation the health care industry specifically. The Integrated Core is team-taught as one comprehensive course reflecting the inherent multi-dimensional complexity of the health care environment. The course will be co-taught by university faculty and industry experts, with prominent practitioners from all areas of health care. Students will complete assignments, team projects and a major business plan as part of their core work.
