Career Resources & Events:
DAP students can take advantage of career resources and events through Career Options Online (COOL), the Sauder Career Success Cycle, and the DAP Student Club.
Please contact dap@sauder.ubc.ca if you have difficulty logging into COOL or locating the Sauder Career Success Cycle in your Vista login account. Note to all incoming students: new, registered students will be setup with COOL and Vista access approximately 2 weeks prior to class start and will be notified via email.
Career Options Online:

Check the COOL website for updated resources and upcoming events such as:
• Fall accounting recruitment program
• Accounting designation information sessions & events
• Career management workshops
• Career management handouts
• Career Options Online (COOL) job postings
• Career coaching appointments (payment through DAP online registration)
Students will receive email notification as events and coaching become available for registration. It is the students’ responsibility to ensure their email on the Student Service Centre is up to date.
Sauder Career Success Cycle:
The Business Career Centre has developed a career success cycle which represents the framework and foundation for all our services and provides you with a road map to achieve your individual career success. This career success cycle is outlined below and can be accessed through your Vista login page.
Step 1: Assessing Self
Generate a skills, interests and values profile in order to develop greater self awareness
Step 2: Researching Options
Identify options and careers that match your personal profile and identify favourable or unfavourable labour market trends
Step 3: Being Strategic
Apply career decision making models and complete a preliminary Strategic Career Action Plan
Step 4: Building Your Brand
Produce a competitive marketing package that includes a resume, cover letter, interview skills and portfolio; and learn to shine in interviews and networking events
Step 5: Getting Connected
Land rewarding employment locally, nationally or internationally, through effective networking, job search strategies, and interviewing skills
Step 6: Optimizing Your Future
Negotiate the best job offer, continue to build your network, apply career advancement techniques and stay connected to the Sauder School of Business
DAP Student Club:
Throughout the year, the DAP student club (a committed group of DAP student volunteers) works hard to host a variety of events (ie. Casino Night, Summer BBQ, Welcome events, etc) and to provide further resources for DAP students (ie. business card orders).
