Summer Programs

European Summer Study Program

Sauder School of Business students have been participating in the European Summer Study Program since 2001.  This 5 week summer program offered through the Manchester Business School at the University of Manchester provides the opportunity to study with one of the top business schools in Europe, while visiting England, France, Spain and The Czech Republic.  The European Summer Program is a must for students interested in European Union development and European business practices. 

Academics
The program includes two modules:  European Business Environment and International Business Project.  Participants earn 6 credits for the program, including 3 credits senior non-commerce electives and 3 credits senior commerce elective credits. The program fulfills the 6-credit international studies requirement and the international experience requirement of the International Business Option.

Eligibility
Students must have completed year three prior to the program start. Students in fourth year may be eligible to participate provided they are not eligible to graduate in May 2012. 

2012 Program Dates
The program runs for five weeks, from June 17 to July 22, 2012.

Program Cost
The 2012 program fee is 3700 British Pound Sterling.  There is a 200 Pound discount if four or more students from the Sauder School of Business participate. The program fee includes:

  • 6 credits UBC tuition
  • Course materials
  • Accommodation & breakfast
  • Transportation within Europe
  • Social activities

The program fee does not include return airfare to Manchester, other meals, or personal expenses.

Application
The application deadline is January 20, 2012.  Applicants apply through Go Global: International Learning Programs.
