How can you tell if you’re a fit for the UBC BCom program?
Along with a strong academic record, if you’re enthusiastic and involved, show great communication skills and can demonstrate teamwork and leadership potential - chances are you’ll be a great fit for the program and your undergraduate studies will be successful and rewarding.
Who applies to the UBC BCom?
We welcome applicants from across Canada and the globe, of all cultures and backgrounds. It’s a diverse and dynamic group, sure to inspire you.
You can apply to the program whether you are coming from a high school or a post secondary school. We accept:
Secondary school applicants – entering Year 1
Transfer students – entering Year 2
• College/university students, UBC students transferring faculties
• Students from commerce programs at other universities
• Previous degree holders
Transfer students – entering Year 3
• BC college/university transfer students
How many students are admitted to first year?
In 2011, around 8,000 students applied to first year of our program. We have room for approximately 530 students in first year.
Can I get into the BCom program in Year 2 or 3?
Yes, as long as you meet the requirements. Admission to Year 2 or 3 of the BCom program will be based on a combination of academic performance and an assessment of your personal profile. See the “Transfer” section of Admission Requirements for more information.
