The UBC Sauder Alumni Club of Hong Kong invites you to join us for a captivating talk by Ricky Lau, Partner and Co-Head of China for TPG Capital.

TPG Capital is one of the largest private equity investment firms in the world and holds offices across Europe, Australia, North America, and Asia. The firm was founded in 1992, and has since then manages over $80 billion across different sectors and geographies.

Ricky Lau (BCom '92) joined TPG Capital in 1998 and is responsible for its China business. Some of his key investments include Shenzhen Development Bank, China Grand Auto, CICC, Daphne, Lenovo, Kerry properties, Shanghai White Rabbit, and Xuzhou Wei Wei. Before joining TPG, Ricky was responsible for the corporate and project finance division of Hopewell Holdings, a regional infrastructure project developer. He joined Hopewell in 1993 and spearheaded the development and financing of several infrastructure projects in China, India, and Thailand.

Ricky is a chartered financial analyst and has served on the board of Shenzhen Development Bank, China Grand Auto, Daphne Int'l, Ingham Holdings and Phoenix Satellite Television. He is on the China Advisory Council for UBC Sauder School of Business, which supports the school in advancing its strategies and achieving goals by advising the dean, chair, and members of the faculty advisory board and others in school leadership roles

He will share his personal career journey including challenges, lessons learned, and tips for building your career in Hong Kong through this presentation and moderated discussion.
