The Peter P. Dhillon Centre for Business Ethics is co-hosting the second of a two-day responsible investing workshop in partnership with SFU’s Beedie Centre for Corporate Governance and Sustainability.
The workshop will cover the theme of RI stewardship, following a first workshop in January that taught RI evaluations and portfolio construction. It will include an overview of approaches to proxy voting and shareholder engagement, and will also feature a series of expert speakers including Shannon Rohan, the Director of Responsible Investment at SHARE. Approximately 60 UBC Sauder and SFU Beedie attendees were at the first workshop.
Responsible investing is broadly characterized by the integration of environmental, social and governance criteria in selecting and managing investments. While selecting portfolio investments is undoubtedly core to any RI program, RI stewardship is also a key component.
