The Dhillon Centre for Business Ethics is hosting an Academic-Practitioner Roundtable on Responsible Business and the Law. Experts will be covering the following diverse topics related to the law as a driver of increased expectations for business responsibility.
Dr. Carol Liao, Assistant Professor at the Allard School of Law, will present The Curious Case of Social Enterprise Law. Connor Bildfell, a Judicial Law Clerk at the British Columbia Court of Appeal, will present Bribery and Corruption in International Business: Legal and Ethical Challenges with Facilitation Payments. Dr. Stepan Wood, Professor at the Allard School of Law, will present Environmental Law: Insights for Business. Elisabeth Cooke, Managing Director of Inclusivity, will present Workplace Diversity: Changing Expectations and Opportunities for Supporting Various Gender Identities. Anne Wittman, Adjunct Faculty at the University of British Columbia’s School of Public Policy and Global Affairs, will present International Human Rights Standards: Changing Expectations for Business. Matt Eisenbrandt, Special Consultant at Camp Fiorante Matthews Mogerman, will present Developments in Canadian Litigation Impacting Business and Human Rights. The event will be moderated by Silvia Magnano, LL.M., who is an MBA candidate at UBC Sauder School of Business.
