The UBC Sauder Philanthropy Program and The Peter P. Dhillon Centre for Business Ethics are pleased to announce their second speaker of the year – Greg Shell, Managing Director of Bain Capital. He will be speaking about non-profits and responsible business.

Shell has owned and worked on many businesses throughout his career, and his efforts have demonstrated a commitment to discovery and value creation. He sits on the board of The Boston Foundation, leading the program committee’s grant making process. He is also a founding board member of Compass Working Capital, a growth non-profit focused on family self sufficiency.

Prior to joining Bain Capital, Shell worked as Lead Portfolio Manager of a concentrated Global Equity product at GMO. He's also worked as a Senior Equity Analyst at Columbia Management Group and a Consultant at Bain & Company in its Strategy and Private Equity practice areas.

The UBC Sauder Philanthropy Program is a student-led extra-curricular program aimed at supporting the school’s mission to develop responsible business leaders. Supported and housed by UBC Sauder’s Peter P. Dhillon Centre for Business Ethics, the program accepts 20 students each year, and hosts a speaker series open to current students, faculty and staff. Past speakers include Debra Hewson (CEO, Odlum Brown), Arran and Ratana Stephens (founders, Nature’s Path Foods) and Kevin McCort (CEO, Vancouver Foundation).
